4.7.1. Transfer mailboxes between hosting accounts

Mailboxes can be transferred together with the site. For more information, see Automatic site transfer between hosting accounts.

To transfer mailboxes, you can temporarily switch to corporate mail. This is a simple and reliable transfer method, but it requires funds in balance. For more details, see Bind and separate mail domain from hosting account.

1. Export mails from mailboxes in old hosting account.
2. Delete mail domain in old hosting account.
3. In new hosting account, create mail domain and mailboxes with same names as in old one.
4. Import mails from files received during export to mailboxes in new hosting account.

1. In Thunderbird, connect via IMAP to existing mailboxes in old hosting account.
2. Create local folders for each connected mailbox (separate folders are required so that emails from different mailboxes are not mixed).
3. Move mails from each corresponding mailbox to each local folder.
4. Delete mail domain in old hosting account.
5. In Thunderbird, delete old mailboxes and connect to new ones via IMAP.
6. Move mails from local folders to new mailboxes.
