3.1.4.6. Point subdomain to third-party NS
Attention!
The domain, whose subdomain needs to be directed to external NS, must be serviced on our NS. If external NS are used for the domain, changes must be made through the control panel of the owner of these NS — settings specified in our panel will not work in this case.- Find out from the owner of the third-party NS, to which the subdomain needs to be directed, their addresses.
- Open the "Domain settings (DNS)" section.
- If the domain settings already contain records of type A, AAAA or CNAME for the subdomain being pointed, delete them.
- For each of the third-party NS addresses, add a new record with the following data:
- "Subdomain" — name of the subdomain being pointed to (without the name of the domain itself).
- "Type" — "NS"
- "Data" — the NS address to which the subdomain should be directed.
- Wait for the DNS cache update. This usually takes several hours (a maximum of 24).
- Ensure that the subdomain is added and configured on the specified NS, and that the necessary DNS records are created for it.
